Barre exercises warm up and strengthen muscles while teaching proper body placement, alignment, technique and terminology.
Centre work may include:
* Floor exercises to stretch and strengthen muscles
* Adagio: slow, controlled movements to develop grace, line, balance and strength
* Petit Allegro: small jumps and other fast, lively movements to develop speed coordination, strength and endurance
* Turns, walks, arabesques, waltz combinations, etc. centre and across floor
* Grand Allegro: big leaps and jumps centre or across floor
* Cool down and reverence
