July 26, 2010 NEW ADULT TAP CLASS!
A BEGINNER ADULT TAP CLASS starts TUESDAY, JULY 27, 6:00-7:00PM at the Lakewood Ranch studio, and runs for five weeks (ending August 24). Studio Director Julia Lunardo is the instructor. Wear dance or exercise attire, or just shorts and a tee shirt. If you don't have tap shoes in time for the first class, just wear leather soled shoes that will stay on your feet when you dance. Get ready to have some FUN!! This class will continue into the school year if enough students are interested, however the day, time, and studio location may be changed. Class size limit: 16. WEDNESDAY, JULY 28 4:00-6:00 PM at the Bee Ridge Rd Studio, Miss Nicole Calabrese will run the last of her series of Broadway dance workshops. Intermediate and Advanced level Jazz dancers are welcome. Class size limit: 16. ($30 if this is your first workshop with us this summer, $27 if it is your second, $24 if it is your third).
July 26, 2010 Cinderella Dance Camp
Miss Anna Riccardo is running this camp at the Lakewood Ranch Studio Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM. Students age 4-8 will learn dances and do arts and crafts and other activities related to the Disney Cinderella movie and to the classical Cinderella ballet. Jazlin Gomez, advanced teen dance student, is the assistant for the week. The campers will do a performance on Friday July 30 for their parents and friends. Only two spaces remain in the camp! July 15, 2010 DANCE WORKSHOP UPDATE!
The second of our SummerDance workshops was held on Wednesday, July 14. The theme was "FAME" and each dancer wore a number as if they were participating in a dance audition. The dancers had a great time and, guess what? They all made the "cut"! Thanks to instructor Nicole Calabrese for another fun Broadway Jazz workshop!

CONTEMPORARY workshop to 'THE MUSIC OF DANNY ELFMAN", who wrote the music for such movies as Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, and more... with instructor Lyn Muckerheide. The two hour workshop will include conditioning, stretching, warm up and across floor combinations, choreography to some of Danny Elfman's music, and perhaps some improv and/or partnering too! July 1, 2010 TP and Blue Face Paint
So what does it mean when the studio floor is covered with toilet paper, picture frames, drum sticks and blue masks? Why, it means that our dancers are enjoying a fabulous "Blue Man Group" workshop! Congratulations to Miss Nicolina Calabree for creating this event and to all the dancers who participated in the high energy routine. We hope you all had a blast!

June 16, 2010 Farwell to Ms Tobi
We bid a fond farewell to dance teacher, Tobi Nobile who has moved back to her home state,
Michigan. Ms Tobi has served our students very well with her focused, disciplined classes,
good technique, wonderful choreography, and love for her students and for dance. She has grown tremendously ofer the years as a teacher, choreographer and human being, and we will miss her.
Best wishes to Ms Tobi and her family in this next faze of their lives.

As of today, the videographer has edited the Lakewood Ranch dance recital and most of the Bee Ridge show. Ms Julia and Mr Dennis are in the process of watching the edited versions and will get any comments to the videographer soon, to then get the final drafts to get copied for you! The process will probably take another two weeks at least.
You will be called when the DVDs are done and ready for you to pick up!

June 7, 2010 What a Day!!
Lakewood Ranch's day of Photos!! Everything was great. Everyone was great. We had no problems today with all the photos we had to take. Thank you to all the parents and the siblings too, who waited patiently for the dancers to get through the process of group and individual photos. Thank you to Tina and her staff from www.PortraitsbyTina.com who waited patiently also for all the students to get ready for that right pose! Thank you also to Lois from www.flowerssarasota.com who sat all day and took your flower orders. They will be delivered to Riverview High School on Saturday for your presentations to the "Stars" of the show!!
