Ballet training prior to or in conjunction with jazz training is highly recommended!

Barre and Centre exercises warm up and strengthen muscles and teach proper body placement and alignment while developing rhythm, balance and proper technique. Floor exercises develop flexibility and strength. Center and across floor combinations may include isolations, jazz walks, runs, triplets, chasses, leaps and turns. Dance combinations utilize a variety of the above techniques to work on memory, coordination agility, style and expression. Jazz Dance uses and expands upon or adapts the basics of ballet especially for classic jazz styles. Other styles explored in class may include techniques from Latin, Broadway dance, and Urban Funk.
